Fortune Valley Gambling Bus

July 31, 2009 - Friday-2:00 to 7:00

The bus will leave Fatima promptly at 2:00 pm and return by 8:00 pm.  There are vouchers for both the dinner buffet and coin for all of us.  Please bring $10.00 and sign up in the parish office.  I have ordered the larger bus, so we need at least 45 people.

 

Imax, Wild Ocean, August 25, 2009 - Tuesday

Does it get any better than this?  Come to Imax and celebrate Sheila’s birthday at the same time.  $9.00 includes admission to the museum and the Imax presentation.  Please sign up and make payment in the parish office by August, 3, 2009.

 

Denver Firefighters Museum,

August 31, 2009 - Monday

Originally Fire Station #1 built in 1909, becoming a museum in 1974.  Lots to see, touch and learn about.  Afterwards we will lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory.  The tour is $4.00 payable at sign up in the parish office.  Lunches at the ..Factory start at $5.99, payable there.  Please sign up by August 7, 2009.  Tickets are very limited.

 

Cinzzetti’s, September 29, 2009 - Tuesday

Cinzetti’s is always a fun place for us to eat.  Too many choices but great food from every area in Italy, is the menu.  Cost is $6.99 (tax, beverage and gratuity is not included).  Sign up in our parish office.

I have been reading a lot about memory loss and some ideas to help avoid or at least stave off the loss of memory.

1. Finish one of the Post’s Cross Word Puzzles.

2. Play or participate in word association games.

3. Write down all the World or State Capitals you can remember.

4. Think of a friend or family member and try to correctly recall their phone numbers.

5. Work on some of the more difficult arithmetic problems and see how you do.

With a bit of luck, we may fine tune our memories.

If you haven’t signed up to attend the following summer programs, please contact the RE office at 303-233-1283 as soon as possible.  Reservations for Water World were due on June 15 but there may still be tickets available.

The due date for registration for God in the Rockies has been extended until July.  This is a fantastic week-long summer camp for kids in grades 6-8.  Registration forms are available in the RE office although you should contact St. Malo to make sure spaces are still available.

Vacation Bible School is for children who will be entering first through sixth grade in the fall.  The theme this year is Rome: Paul and the Underground Church. Children will be grouped in “families” and will learn what it was like to be a Christian in Rome in the first century.  Adults and teens are needed to be family leaders, on the drama team, and/or work in the market place.  Please call the RE Office to register or volunteer to help.  (Unless previously provided, all volunteers age 18 and older must have a background check and complete the Safe Environment program.)

Pictures from First Eucharist and Confirmation are ready for pick up in the Religious Education Office.  If you haven’t done so, please come by the office Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to pick up your complimentary photos.

 

 

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION IN 2009-2010

If you have a child going into the 2nd or 6th grade next year and would like them to prepare for First Eucharist and Confirmation respectively, they must have had at least one year of religious education prior to preparing for their sacraments.  This means they should have been enrolled in either Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School (or another Catholic school) or in a religious education program.  In July, information will be mailed to all children enrolled in OLF School and/or  the OLF RE program in 2008-2009.  Please call the RE office if you have any questions or want to make certain we have your information.
