Capital Campaign Nearing Goal

Just a year ago, Our Lady of Fatima leaders spent a few restless nights wondering about the future. Change and renovations were needed campus-wide, but how would the parish meet the needs? After much discussion and prayer the answer came from our Lord.  He directed the leaders to move forward with a capital campaign and now as the campaign thermometer nears $2 million, we know why.

“The response continues to be overwhelming,” Monsignor Nickless said. “We asked our parishioners to sacrifice and they have put Our Lady of Fatima at the top of their giving list.  I feel honored to be a part of such a successful capital campaign and I have our parishioners to thank.”

As the campaign moves into its final weeks, the $2 million goal is well within reach.  To date parishioners have donated or pledged more than $1.9 million.

“We are so close,” Monsignor said, “but it’s not over yet. We still need those parishioners who are contemplating a gift, to join in with the rest of their faith family. I hope they find it in their hearts to make a donation. Every pledge takes us closer towards our goal.”

Over the next three weeks volunteers will work the phones in an attempt to talk with those parishioners they’ve been unable to reach during the personal solicitation period.

“We’ll have three phoning nights,” campaign consultant Rich Roberts said. “One is scheduled in each of the following weeks. This is another chance for us to answer questions and address any concerns.”

Last weekend during re-dedication ceremonies, parishioners enjoyed the fruits of the Remembering our roots…building our future Capital Campaign. With Archbishop Charles J. Chaput on hand to lead the re-dedication, parishioners marveled at the beauty of the renovated sanctuary.
